Job description: SALARY: Grade 31-35 depending on education. $20.50 to $33.82 (Hourly Base Pay Scale for Non-Exempt Paraeducators Represented by ESPBC, Effective July 1, 2023)

REPORTS TO: Team Leader, Infants and Toddlers

TITLE CODE: A3507

DEFINITION: Under the guidance of a teacher, provides individual or group instruction services. Prepares instructional materials used with individuals or groups, including children and families. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education, Training and Experience:
A minimum of 48 college credits or high school diploma and successful completion of Praxis ParaPro Assessment is required. Associate degree in education preferred.

Experience working with children. Experience working with families with limited English proficiency.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of computers and computer software programs. Knowledge of Baltimore County Infants and Toddlers Program procedures. Knowledge of working with individuals with developmental, emotional, and/or physical disabilities. Knowledge of the educational system.

Skill in communicating effectively. Skill in establishing rapport with children, their families, and staff. Skill in organizing and prioritizing workload.

Ability to use computers and related equipment. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to maintain confidential information.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The work of this class is generally performed in homes, community childcare settings, schools and office environments. Travel to homes, community locations and schools throughout Baltimore County required. Work includes the operation of office equipment, computers, and assistive technology devices. Physical activity may include being able to get up and down from the floor, occasional lifting of children, and occasional running.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employees in this class may be required to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends based on the schedules of students.
