About the Role of Student Success Coach
The Student Success Coach position at blithequark is a unique opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and dedicated to helping others succeed. As a Student Success Coach, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to students throughout their program, ensuring they have a quality learning experience. This role involves working closely with students over the phone and responding to inquiries through our systems, all from the comfort of your home office. With a scheduled 40-hour workweek, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere, as long as you are available during our hours of operation (Monday-Thursday 8am to 7pm CDT, and Friday & Saturday 8am to 5pm CDT).
Key Responsibilities
- Support enrollment, student development, and retention services to ensure a high-quality learning experience for all students.
- Manage a group of assigned students, coaching each through their degree program with proactive and timely outreach.
- Encourage and support students through daily and weekly outreach, helping them develop the skills and knowledge necessary for academic success.
- Provide a trusted and supportive environment where students feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, aspirations, concerns, and interests.
- Offer guidance on how to utilize available resources to maximize each student's success.
- Become a certified resume reviewer to provide resume and career development support, empowering students to achieve their career goals.
- Act as a liaison between students and various departments, ensuring seamless communication and support.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning (or international equivalent), recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- At least two years of experience in academic/admissions support, customer service, human resources, and/or counseling.
- Knowledge of academic policies and procedures, with the ability to learn technical skills quickly.
- Excellent communication and listening skills, including a pleasant phone manner, to provide top-notch customer support.
- A strong customer support focus and attention to detail, ensuring that every student receives the support they need to succeed.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with the ability to self-motivate and manage your time effectively.
- Familiarity with academic support services and resources, with the ability to think critically and creatively to support student success.
- Certification as a Professional Resume Writer or willingness to become certified through our paid certification program.
