Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, execution, and documentation of test plans using both automated and manual testing to ensure products meet design specifications.
- Analyze client requirements and provide feedback to ensure that software solutions meet their needs.
- Assist in tracking progress and results of automated testing efforts for appropriate teams, identifying areas for improvement and optimizing testing processes.
- Participate in the process of transforming manual test documentation into automated test scripts, leveraging innovative tools and techniques to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Utilize test standards, procedures, and functional specifications to inform test approaches, ensuring that software solutions meet the highest quality standards.
- Create and maintain test data and test documentation, including status reports, metrics, and other relevant information.
- Support the setup, configuration, and maintenance of automated testing environments in a continuous integration setting, assisting in the implementation and execution of functional, regression, exploratory, automation, and other tests as needed.
- Collaborate with teams to formulate QA standards and best practices, organizational policies and processes, and strategic plans that drive quality excellence.
- Stay current with new technologies and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve software quality and testing processes.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems, or a related field, and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of related work experience in information technology or an engineering environment, with a focus on software quality assurance and testing.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks, including Selenium (preferably with Java), and familiarity with test case management tools (e.g., qTest).
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum development processes and ADO (Microsoft) environments.
- Knowledge of the transportation industry, competitors, and evolving technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a related field, which may offset experience requirements.
- Experience with software design, coding, control, and review of code, configuration management, change management, program testing, integration of software, and release management processes.
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies and containerization (e.g., Docker).
- Experience with DevOps tools and practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Strong understanding of software quality metrics and benchmarking.
