Job Summary

As an Art Director, Motion Design, you will be responsible for crafting innovative and inspiring motion design solutions for our clients' products, events, and future consumer experiences. You will choreograph the balance of graphic design, motion, music, and editorial elements to pay off creative briefs and communicate our clients' messages. This requires broad experience in both designing creative solutions and ensuring the accurate implementation of creative intent through the executive review and production processes. You will be an integral member of our creative team, responsible for designing and directing the Motion Design Identity for our clients' products, events, and future consumer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft innovative and inspiring motion design solutions that meet the requirements outlined in our clients' creative briefs
• Collaborate with partners and mentor junior creatives to ensure cross-functional alignment of creative
• Build relationships, rapport, and credibility within our Motion Design team and with members of partner teams
• Prepare work for creative reviews with appropriate Creative Directors, gathering feedback on direction and ensuring work aligns with other projects within our Design community
• Contribute to planning and art directing projects from initial blue sky ideation through final delivery of production
• Help define the Motion Identity of new product launches
• Interpret vision from creative leadership and disseminate to a team of designers and animators
• Support and follow creative direction of the appropriate Associate Creative Director or Creative Director

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• 10+ years of experience in the creative and design field, with a focus on motion design
• Outstanding conceptual and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box
• Skilled animator, designer, and illustrator with experience pitching creative and leading production from concept to delivery
• A portfolio that exhibits a thorough grasp of design principles, animation principles, motion theory, typography, and visual communication
• Ability to conceive and articulate novel motion ideas, both through contemporary references and crafting animation yourself in tools such as After Effects, Cinema 4D, or equivalent 3D software
• Outstanding design skills, with the ability to guide, evaluate, and if necessary, redirect creative development
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt quickly, with flexible creative problem-solving skills in a rapidly changing environment
• Thorough understanding of how design principles influence 3D and 2D production as they relate to motion content creation

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Familiarity with Maya, Houdini, and Nuke
